The Automatic Litter Box. Your Cat Won't Fear

No caves. No domes. Just space.

Back This Project Watch Demo

Why do cats hate $600 robots?

Most automatic litter boxes are confined "caves." They are dark, smelly, and trigger claustrophobia. If your cat is large or skittish, they simply refuse to enter.

The Open Orbit Solution

We removed the roof. By utilizing a 30° Gravity-Tilt Axis, Open Orbit gives your cat a 360° view while utilizing physics to sift waste without complex gears.

Open-Air Freedom
No dome. No scary enclosure.
Whisper Quiet Drive
Friction drive technology (< 40dB).
Zero-Pinch Safety
Radar sensors + current monitoring.

Under the Hood

Industrial Grade Engineering. Not a Toy.

Happy cat

High-Torque Motor

30kg/cm DC Gear Motor with Magnetic Encoding for precise positioning.

Dual-Core Brain

ESP32 Processor handling safety interrupts in microseconds.

Dual Power System

Runs on standard 12V wall power or the swappable Lithium Explorer Pack.

Stationary Sifter

Stainless-steel mesh comb. No moving rakes to get jammed.

Uncle Ray's Old Enginering Shoppie

From Automotive Engineering to Pet Tech

Welcome to my old engineering shoppe. I am uncle Ray, an automotive engineer from Michigan. I’ve spent over 20 years designing powertrain systems for EVs. When I looked at the current litter robots on the market, I didn't see $600 worth of engineering. I saw cheap plastic gears and dangerous pinch points.

I designed Open Orbit using the same principles I use at work: Reliability, Safety, and Efficiency. I built this because I wanted a litter box that I could trust, and one my cats would actually use.
